HELENSBURGH’S Tower Digital Arts Centre will host the screening of a new hard-hitting film confronting male suicide next month, as well as a special Q&A session with its director.

CONNECT will be released on Friday, October 25 and will hit the big screens in Helensburgh on Wednesday, November 13, when director Marilyn Edmond checks in at the Tower on the latest leg of a UK-wide speaking tour.

The heartfelt drama, shot over 15 days in North Berwick, features a cast including Kevin Guthrie (Fantastic Beasts, Dunkirk), Stephen McCole (Outlaw King) and Siobhan Reilly (The Angels’ Share).

Marilyn, making her directorial debut, said: “Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK, that works out to one man every two hours. This film does cover a very dark subject but has a lovely balance of humour and drama.”

Doors will open for the Helensburgh event at 6.30pm for a 7pm showing. Tickets will be available from The Tower's website helensburghboxoffice.com or via angelfaceproductions.co.uk.
