HELENSBURGH police have charged a man from England with common assault after he allegedly punched another man and kicked a woman to the head following a disturbance in the town over the weekend.
Officers attended West Clyde Street shortly before 1am on Sunday, September 29 after reports of an assault involving the accused, a 22-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman.

Witnesses stated the three had been involved in a verbal altercation before the man responsible allegedly punched the other male and kicked the woman to the head after she had fallen when trying to stop the initial assault.

Both victims are said to have sustained minor injuries.
The accused, 31, was arrested and will be reported for two counts of alleged common assault and obstructing police.
