ARGYLL and Bute Council is to scrap the practice of sending printed 'bin collection date' calendars to households in Helensburgh – and across the area.
The authority says the move to online-only information will allow it to divert money towards other essential services.
Announcing the move, the council said the calendars can be downloaded and printed at home, while anyone without access to a computer or the internet will be able to call 01546 605514 and have a printed calendar sent out.

But the automatic issuing of printed calendars will cease, following a decision made by the council's environment, development and infrastructure committee in 2018.
The move was advertised on the 2019 calendars when they were issued last year.
Helensburgh councillor Ellen Morton, depute policy lead for roads and amenity services, said: “Argyll and Bute is one of three Scottish councils to have seen the greatest cuts to their funding.
"We have to make savings wherever possible to ensure that we protect the services our communities value most.

“The move also supports our commitment to using digital resources to give quick and efficient access to services so that residents can carry out transactions at the time that suits them.
“We would also remind people that we have our Keep in the Loop service, which provides up-to-date information on our services and alerts."
