AN ALLEGED drink driver has been charged with road traffic and disorder offences after being stopped by police in Helensburgh.
Police responded to reports of an intoxicated male having entered the driver’s seat of a Mercedes in East Princes Street around 5.30pm on Sunday, September 1.
The man, identified as a 50-year-old from Dumbarton, allegedly failed to provide a sample of breath at the roadside and was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office.

He is then said to have been abusive towards police officers after again failing, without reasonable excuse, to provide samples of breath for analysis.
He was held in custody to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court at a later date, charged with alleged road traffic offences and a disorder offence.
