A MAN from Helensburgh has been charged with alleged assault after an attack in the town at the weekend.

Police attended West Clyde Street shortly before 6pm on Sunday, September 1 after a report of a 56-year-old man having been allegedly punched and kicked by another man.

Officers identified a 52-year-old man from Maitland Court, Helensburgh as having allegedly been responsible and he has been issued with a recorded police warning after the incident.
