DO you have a garage or garden shed full of tools you no longer need? If so, Helensburgh’s mental health and wellbeing hub wants to hear from you.
The team at Jean’s Bothy have teamed up with local firm M&T Builder’s Merchants to set up a tool donation box for the project at the company’s busy Handyman’s Haunt in Charlotte Street.
An ‘upcycling’ group at Jean’s Bothy has been running for the last six months, but the project’s development manager, Katrina Sayer, told the Advertiser the group was struggling to carry out work without the right tools.

Alan Trail from M&T Builder’s Merchants said: “We were delighted to offer our support when we heard the members of Jean’s Bothy required more tools to complete their projects.
“We encourage our trade and DIY customers who have tools they will no longer use to drop into the Handyman’s Haunt, where their donation will be greatly received.
“It is great to be offered the opportunity to help support this community project with health and wellbeing being an important part of our culture here.”
Katrina said: “We are delighted with the offer of support that has been shown by M&T’s, and can’t thank Alan enough for the opportunity to grow and develop our groups within the bothy.

“It gives our members a real boost to be part of something so positive.
“Working in partnership is vital for the future success of Jean’s Bothy so when opportunities like this come up it’s key that we are able to work together as a community to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing.”
The tool donation box will be in M&T’s for the next six weeks, and all local tradesmen and businesses are being encouraged to think of donating tools which might be past their best and could do with a bit of TLC to bring them back to life.
