AN award-winning holiday home on the Rosneath peninsula will be the setting of a new BBC drama series.
Cape Cove, built on the site of a former World War Two naval outlook post, is to feature in The Nest, a five-part BBC One thriller starring Greenock-born Martin Compston.
Three weeks of filming are due to start at the beginning of September, meaning traffic on the B833 Shore Road just after the Knockderry House Hotel will be restricted to a single lane and temporary traffic lights will be in place throughout, from Monday, September 2 to Friday, September 20.
The stunning beach house, designed by Cameron Webster Architects and completed in 2012, sits right on the water’s edge with spectacular views of Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde and received award recognition from the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) and the Saltire Society Housing Award in 2012.

The weekly rate at the luxury location, self-catering, is just under £2,000 at non-peak times.
Described as an emotional thriller, The Nest focuses on the fictional story of a wealthy couple trusting a teenage girl to act as the surrogate mother to their child.
A programme synopsis explains: “Dan (Martin Compston) and Emily (Sophie Rundle) are crazy about each other.
“They live in a huge house in a beautiful location just outside Glasgow and want for nothing.
“All that’s missing is a baby - and they’ve been trying for years.
“Through a chance encounter they meet Kaya (Mirren Mack), an 18-year-old from the other side of the city, whose life is as precarious as theirs is comfortable.

“When Kaya agrees to carry their baby, it feels like they were meant to meet, but was it really by chance?
“Who is Kaya and what has brought her to this couple? Can the dreams of Kaya, Emily and Dan be fulfilled or have all three embarked on a relationship of mutually assured destruction?
“The Nest is an emotional thriller about love and money, and the price of being able to buy whatever you want.”
Line of Duty star Compston said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join the cast of The Nest.
“Nicole Taylor (writer and executive producer) is one of the most exciting and original voices in writing today, I’m chuffed we’re finally working together.

“Combined with filming in Glasgow and going back onto BBC One in my native west coast accent makes it a dream scenario.”
