Helensburgh Land Rover firm seeks move to Dumbarton

Lenny Donnelly, who runs the LCS Engineering Land Rover repair business in Lomond Street, says his firm has outgrown the site and that a bigger one is "urgently required".

The site, on Garshake Road, used to house the plant which would drain water from the nearby Overtoun Burn.

In recent years, the site has fallen into disrepair, with the buildings becoming derelict and the area becoming the target of numerous instances of fly tipping.

Mr Donnelly says he has already spent "a considerable amount" on clearing the site and making it safe and secure, and a report submitted with the application says "it is essential that income can now be generated".

Under the plans, an existing derelict building will be refurbished, and used as the main repair shop, with space at the front of the site reserved for vehicle parking.
