THE circus rolled into town at the weekend as Helensburgh’s Hill House hosted a day of fun.
The Big Top event, held on Sunday, July 21, was organised by Circus Sensible and featured classic activities such as plate spinning and juggling, as well as carnival games like hook-a-duck and hoopla - although some of the day’s younger participants have a bit of growing to do before they can enjoy the latter.
Emma Sweeney, visitor services supervisor at The Hill House, said: “We were delighted to invite families along to enjoy the house in a completely new way this summer.

“The Big Top Event was a great success and saw over 200 adults and children having fun in the grounds of the Mackintosh masterpiece.
“It was great to see so many families get involved in the circus skills workshops and games – there was a buzz to the place like never before!
“Every penny raised goes towards the ongoing protection and preservation by the NTS to keep this house that we love so much around for future generations.”
