HELENSBURGH'S volunteer lifeboat crew was called out to help the crew of a yacht after it lost power in the River Clyde.
The lifeboat launched at 8.18pm on Sunday in response to a request from the UK Coastguard after a report was received of a yacht having suffered mechanical failure on passage to the James Watt Dock in Greenock.
The callout was the Helensburgh RNLI crew's second of the day, coming just a few hours after they responded to a report of a man overboard from a yacht in the Gareloch, near the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club's moorings.
After locating the stricken yacht, the crew attached a tow line and took the vessel to the James Watt Dock, where it was safely secured.
The lifeboat crew returned to their station in Rhu and were ready for service again at 9.30pm.
