HELENSBURGH'S lifeboat crew responded to two emergency alerts in the space of a single callout on Saturday afternoon.
The crew was asked by HM Coastguard to launch shortly after 3pm following a report of a fishing vessel off Cloch Point near Gourock which was suffering from mechanical problems.
While en route, however, the lifeboat was diverted to Port Glasgow to a report of a man in the water.
