OUR latest archive story comes from June 17, 2004, looking back on the success of the Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band...

PIPERS earned the prestigious title of British champions at the weekend after winning the competition in Turriff.
Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band members are jumping for joy after the contest, which saw them beat off other bands in the march, strathspey and reel tests.
Pipe Major Paul Warren said the result made up for the disappointment of only making seventh place in the recent Dumbarton-held Scottish Championships.
He said: “This is what makes all the practice worthwhile. In the end both piping judges awarded us first place, the ensemble judge second place and the drumming judge second place, so it was a pretty conclusive result.”
Band member Hollis Easter, studying piping in Scotland on a scholarship from New York, said it was “beyond his wildest dreams”.
