A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with an alleged drugs offence and possession of a bladed item after Helensburgh police detained a group of youths last weekend.
Officers attended Hermitage Park on Sunday, June 16 in response to reports of youths stealing bins.

A group of young people matching the description of those allegedly involved was later identified in the Co-op car park in Sinclair Street.
When approaching the group, officers are said to have detected a strong smell of drugs and the youths were subsequently searched, resulting in a 14-year-old boy from the Colgrain area of Helensburgh being charged with the alleged possession of cannabis and possession of a bladed article.

The teen was left in the care of his parents and a report has been sent to the children’s reporter.
