THE 12th annual Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games take place this weekend.
The gates will open to the public for the popular event, at Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Football Club's Ardencaple grounds on Rhu Road Higher, at 9.30am on Saturday, June 1.
An official parade at 12pm led by the clan chieftains Hector MacAulay and Sir Malcolm Colquhoun Of Luss, along with the organising committee chairman David Park, will kick off the opening ceremony.

They will be accompanied by bagpipers and drummers as they complete a full lap of the field of play to commence the traditional celebrations.
The morning events begin with the novice heavyweight competitions, younger highland dancing, solo piping and running competitions.
The afternoon events include the professional heavyweights, continuation of the highland dancing, solo piping, hill race and running competitions including visitor's and children's races.

Various food stalls along with trade stalls and a beer garden will add to the excitement, although a warm jacket may come in useful with light rain forecast in the morning and a chilly 13 degrees predicted throughout the day.
Entry to the Games costs £6 for adults, £3 for children and concessions and under-fives go free.
A family ticket (two adults and two children) is £15.
