A HELENSBURGH man has been charged with assaulting a child after an alleged incident in the town last week.
Police attended Redgauntlet Road on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 8, following a call about a driver allegedly being verbally abusive towards two young boys.

The man is said to have stopped his vehicle and approached the boys, both of whom were aged 11, before taking hold of one and shaking him, causing him to hit off a fence.
The 49-year-old male, from Endrick Wynd, is then alleged to have taken a can of juice from the same boy and to have poured the contents over his head.

Officers arrested and charged the man at his home address and a report of the incident has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
