A TEENAGE girl has been charged with police assault after allegedly resisting arrest and biting a female officer’s hand in Helensburgh.
Officers on patrol on Friday, May 3 observed a group of youths in possession of alcohol at the junction of Granville Street and Henry Bell Street.
When officers approached the young female, she is alleged to have subjected them to verbal abuse and failed to stop when instructed to do so.

The youth is alleged to have bitten a female officer’s hand as she tried to take hold of her, with the policewoman requiring treatment at the minor injuries unit.
The teenager, from Clydebank, was charged with an alleged disorder offence, resisting arrest and police assault.
