A REPORT of a child stranded on a pile at Craigendoran pier earlier this week turned out be a false alarm, according to Helensburgh's lifeboat crew.
The RNLI team were called out shortly after 4pm on Tuesday, April 30 and arrived on scene at 4.31pm.

HM Coastguard, police and the Ministry of Defence RIB also attended.
A search was carried out but no trace of a casualty or informant was found.

A spokesman for the Helensburgh RNLI crew confirmed the call was being treated as a "false alarm with good intent".
The lifeboat reported back on station at 5.10pm.
