HELENSBURGH’S church congregations came together on Good Friday to take part in their annual Walk of Witness around the town centre.
Around a hundred worshippers of all Christian denominations gathered at St Joseph’s Church before setting off, with a different cross-bearer leading the way on each leg of the journey, to Helensburgh Baptist Church, the Bethesda Christian Fellowship, the United Reformed Church and St Michael and All Angels Church before the walk ended in Colquhoun Square, outside Helensburgh Parish Church.
At each stop, worshippers listened to a Bible reading and sang an Easter hymn to bear witness to their faith in the Resurrection, uniting in a final prayer in Colquhoun Square before each of the walkers went on their way.
On Easter Day itself, Helensburgh Parish Church and Helensburgh URC joined forces once again for an early morning service in the Parish Church garden, while early morning services were also held at the parish churches in Rhu and Shandon and in Cardross.
Early morning services were held on Sunday in Rhu and Cardross, and on Tarbet Pier on Loch Lomondside.
