THE A82 trunk road along Loch Lomondside was closed on Friday afternoon after a serious road accident near Luss.
Police, fire and ambulance crews, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a crash between a car and a minibus shortly before 3pm.
The crash happened on the A82 near Aldochlay, between the turn-offs at the northern and southern ends of Luss village itself.
At least one person is understood to have been seriously injured.
Traffic in both directions was initially instructed to use a long diversion route via the A811, A81, A84 and A85.
However at around 5pm police revised their instructions, with southbound traffic permitted to divert through Luss village itself, although northbound traffic remained diverted via the above route.
The road is expected to remain shut for some time.
