POLICE charged two males in East Clyde Street, Helensburgh, last week for two separate incidents relating to the possession of cannabis.
Officers stopped a Volkswagen Polo in the town shortly before midnight on Wednesday, March 20 and allegedly detected a strong smell of drugs coming from within the vehicle.

The car’s occupants were detained and searched and a 19-year-old male from Cardross was reported for possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply.
On Thursday evening, March 21, police officers on routine patrol stopped a 27-year-old driver of a Ford Mondeo on the same street.

The man, from Dumbarton, and his vehicle were searched and the driver was charged with the alleged possession of cannabis.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal for both men.
