A MAN who was spotted lying down on the train tracks near Helensburgh Upper station on Saturday night was later found with nearly 1,000 pills believed to be diazepam, according to police.
Officers were called out to the scene at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening and removed the 44-year-old male, from Oban, from the tracks after oncoming trains had been stopped.
The man was searched for safety reasons and allegedly found to be in possession of the blue tablets, which have been sent to a lab for further analysis.
Police say the man may be suffering from possible mental health issues and he was taken to hospital for assessment.
He was charged for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to others pending lab results.
