Gin lovers from Helensburgh and far beyond braved the elements to attend the second annual Helensburgh GinFall event at the Victoria Halls on Saturday – and they may not have to wait too long to add a date for number three to their diaries.
Despite the wet, windy and thoroughly miserable weather outside, the organisers said that attendance was more than 50 per cent up on the first event in Helensburgh in 2018, and attendees had the chance to sample even more gins than before.
Regular GinFall exhibitors such as Makar, Arbikie, Colonsay, Silent Pool and BOE were joined by new gins and gin liqueurs who had recently come on the market, including Kilty Gin, Kings Hill, Gin Sul and Aelder.
All the stands reported a roaring trade and were all very impressed by the crowd that attended, citing their knowledge and interest to enagage as the best they had experienced at any gin festival.

Helensburgh GinFall also saw the launch of The Tiki Rum, giving people the opportunity to try and buy a range of rums from around the works, including Pussers, Mahiki, Devil`s Point, Penny Blue and Bayou.
The room was a great success, with a constant flow of traffic all day, with people curious to learn more about the tipple that people are calling “the new gin”.
There was also a Tiki Cocktail bar, with a wide range of Tiki Classics, sch as the Pain Killer, Navy Grog and the Blue Hawaiian, which attendees thoroughly enjoyed.
Damien McFall from the organisers, Social and Cocktail, told the Advertiser: “We had a resoundingly positive response from attendees, exhibitors and the venue, and we are just about to confirm a date for GinFall 2019 in Helensburgh.”
