YOUNG carers in Helensburgh and Lomond will soon find themselves better off to the tune of £1,000 thanks to the generosity of audience members at a concert in the town.
Organised by the Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group, the 'Sing For Your Supper' charity event is an annual fixture of the town's winter calendar and features a host of vocal, instrumental and dance groups in the town take to the Victoria Halls stage.
This year's nominated good cause was the Helensburgh and Lomond Young Carers project – and Savoy secretary Pauline Forrest told the Advertiser that £1,000 would be presented to the group as a result of Friday night's event.
Savoy secretary Pauline Forrest said: “The event has been going for so many years that it can be difficult to ring the changes, but the programme is slightly different each year, and the participants and audience members all seemed to enjoy the night.”
