Members and friends of Helensburgh Parish Church have raised £1,685 for a Gambian school thanks to their efforts over the festive season.
Young Church and Girls’ Brigade members designed and sold Christmas cards for Dumbarton London Corner Nursery school while member Patricia Low raised a further £865 through home-baked Christmas cakes.
Rev Tina Kemp, vice chairman of the Dumbarton Gambia Education Association which runs the 90-pupil school, thanked everyone for their support and said the money will make a huge difference.
