THE first snowfall of the new year is causing travel disruption in Helensburgh and the surrounding area.
Local bus operator Wilson's of Rhu advised that its school bus from Rosneath to Hermitage Academy got stuck at Millbrae in Rosneath because of snow, though it was due to resume its journey at 9.15am.
The 315 bus route between Helensburgh town centre, Kirkmichael and Churchill has been suspended due to the road conditions, while the 9am 316 bus from Coulport to Helensburgh was delayed.
Additionally, Garelochhead Coaches' 302 bus route between Helensburgh and Carrick Castle is not running west of Ardgartan because of snow.
Reader Emma Clark advised on the Advertiser's Facebook page that traffic heading towards Helensburgh was "at a standstill" on the A818 westbound before the Cross Keys roundabout.
In Helensburgh itself, snow on higher ground has led to the closure of the course at Helensburgh Golf Club.
The disruption comes after the Met Office issued a yellow 'be aware' weather warning advising of icy conditions in Strathclyde, and across much of the UK, between midnight and 12 noon on Tuesday.
