SCOTRAIL cancelled trains travelling to and from Helensburgh Central during Tuesday evening's rush hour due to a signalling fault at Craigendoran station.
The rail firm announced the news via social media at rush hour, with a statement on Twitter saying Network Rail engineers were on their way to try and fix the problem as soon as possible.
A further update said: "Travelling to Helensburgh from Glasgow? Our advice is to get off Helensburgh services at Hyndland, and change onto a Balloch service as far as Dumbarton Central. We’ll have shuttle buses running Dumbarton Central – Helensburgh Central."
The fault was fixed by around 6.15pm, though some further trains were revised or delayed while ScotRail recovered the service.
During the disruption, Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central services were terminated at Garscadden, with eastbound services starting from Hyndland.
