MEMBERS of the Helensburgh branch of a UK-wide charitable order recently donated a range of food and other items to the Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank.
The items were collected by the members of the Neptune Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.
The order, which is known as ‘the Buffs’ to its members, was founded in 1822, and is described as one of the largest fraternal organisations in the UK.
It gives help to members, their families, dependents of former members and other charitable organisations.
The order’s website describes the organisation’s principal aims as “friendship, charitable works, social activity, mutual support and care”.
