HELENSBURGH’S Eilidh Gammons returned home with no fewer than four major prizes after the biggest Highland dancing event in Scotland.
Eilidh triumphed in the 10 years category of the Scottish National Highland Dancing Championship at the Cowal Highland Gathering in Dunoon on Thursday.
She followed that up with victory in her age group in the Scottish Championships the following day, and then on Saturday made it three wins in three days with victory in her age category in the Argyllshire Championship, before going on to be named the best Scottish dancer at the whole event.
And Eilidh, who now has a remarkable 70 major titles to her name, wasn’t the only Helensburgh winner at the Gathering – Isla Flint won her first major title in the form of the 15 years Argyllshire championship.
Eilidh and Isla were among seven trophy winners from the Margaret Rose School of Dance at the three-day event.
Dance teacher Margaret Macinnes said: “We are all thrilled with the success of the Margaret Rose dancers at the biggest event in the Highland dancing calendar.”
