Helensburgh welcomed a crowd of more more than 1,500 people to the town’s first ever ‘street food Sunday’ festival.
Visitors enjoyed fantastic weather, as temperatures reached 26 degrees, as well as food and drink from a number of local businesses at the event at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre.
Food was available from, among others, Argyll Hog Roasts, Masala Twist, Riva, Lochnell Oysters, the Ginger Bread Man, Loch Lomond Whiskies, Valentia Gin and Vodka, DAM Falafel and Meat and the Tempo Tea Bar and their Bubble Tea.
Martin Rippon, the owner of the Ginger Bread Man in Helensburgh, said: “It was a good day and it was well attended. I think it has to be one of the better food and drink festivals we have attended because it was so well organised.
“The weather was great as well,” he added. “It was lovely to look over the water – it had a very continental feel to it when the sun was out.”
The event, organised by Argyll and Bute Council, was held at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre overlooking the Clyde on July 1.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Street Food Sunday was a fantastic success and we estimate that at least 1,500 people attended on the day.
“The fabulous food supplied by local businesses, as well as the perfect weather, helped make it a day enjoyed by all.”
They added: “We would like to thank the community for getting behind this event, all of the suppliers who took part and the staff who ensured the day ran smoothly.”
