Argyll and Bute Council have announced the successful projects in Helensburgh and Lomond that will receive funding from its Supporting Communities Fund.

Voting closed at midnight on Monday, April 30.

The successful projects are:

Access to a Unique Marine Environment, Loch Long, Arrochar

Cobbler Climbers

Colgrain Primary School Community Garden

Cove and Kilcreggan Youth Cafe

Gareloch Riding for the Disabled Association

Geilston Hall - Argyll’s Charles Rennie Mackintosh Trail

Generation Communities - Arrochar, Tarbet and Succoth

Helensburgh and Lomond Autism Cooking Classes

Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank

Jean’s Bothy Community Health Hub Courses

Meet and Eat Lunch Club run by volunteers from Kirkmichael

Rhu and Shandon Community Centre Family Activities for 2018

Rosneath Peninsula Highland Gathering

Route 81 Friday Night Youth Provision

The Cove and Kilcreggan Lunch Club

The remaining money will be offered to the group which was next in line to receive funding but could not be fully funded.

The Council’s Policy Lead for Communities, Councillor Robin Currie: “We would like to thank everyone who submitted an application, and all those who took the time to vote - over 4,500 of you.

“This year we have piloted a new approach and encouraged the people of Argyll and Bute to decide what projects should receive funding. The process was part funded by the Scottish Government’s Community Choices programme and will help inform our approach to involving communities in making financial decisions in the future.

“This fund is all about our communities and this money will make a huge difference to community groups and organisations throughout the area.”
