A CARDROSS care home has been ordered by inspectors to make urgent improvements – and it could lose its registration if it doesn't comply.
Clyde View House Care Home has been ordered by the Care Inspectorate to make a number of changes to its service by May 2 at the latest.
A notice served by the scrutiny body on March 9, states that the home is not operating in accordance with requirements or conditions of the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010.
According to the document, the care home must carry out several internal and external repairs by the May deadline.
Inspectors highlighted ‘lack of cleanliness of kitchen, bathroom and toilet areas’, ‘black mould as it appears throughout the care service’, and ‘absence of disabled access to the building’, all of which must be rectified.
The home must also demonstrate there are a sufficient number of registered nurses on each shift, and appoint a suitable individual as manager of the care service within the allocated period.
The notice also requires the home to put a system in place to ensure all medication is administered as prescribed and that there are appropriate laundry facilities.
Failure to meet more than one of these demands by the deadline may result in a Care Inspectorate proposal to cancel the home’s registration.
A spokesperson for Clyde View House Care Home said: “We received our improvement notice on March 13.
“We are committed to meet all the improvements as detailed in the notice and are confident to have these in place before May 2.
“It is unfortunate that these events have occurred due to absence of management, however our senior nurse Nichola, who has been nursing at Clyde View for three years and also has a background in management, has taken the role of manager and implementing our new philosophy of communication and transparency.
“Going forward we are delighted to inform the community that we will be developing our care environment in a dementia friendly way.
“On completion we will send invites out to the community to view the work done.”
