HELENSBURGH'S newest restaurant is one of 12 new Scottish entries in the Waitrose Good Food Guide for 2018.
The Sugar Boat in Colquhoun Square joins eateries in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Skye, Torridon and Newport-on-Tay in the new edition of the guide, which will be published in full next month.
Opened in May, Sugar Boat, on the square's north-east corner, is the first Helensburgh restaurant to make it into the Guide in recent years.
Employing 20 people, the restaurant is owned by Will Smith, whose CV includes a spell working at Cameron House on Loch Lomond in the 1990s and who returned to Helensburgh last year after operating two Michelin-starred restaurants in London - Wild Honey in Mayfair and Arbutus in Soho.
The 2018 Good Food Guide - the fifth edition under Waitrose's ownership – will be published on September 4.
