PLANS to demolish 42 derelict flats at Jutland Court in Helensburgh have been approved - along with proposals to build 38 new homes on the site.
Argyll and Bute Council planning officials have given the green light to an application by Shandon-based building firm Callum Williamson Ltd to pull down the derelict properties and build 24 flats and 14 houses - most of them to be socially-rented - on the site.
The planning application states that 32 of the new properties would be “for ACHA”, with the remaining six units fbeing private.
The two blocks of accommodation, each four storeys in height, were built by the Ministry of Defence in the 1960s as accommodation for Royal Navy personnel, but have lain abandoned for several years.
