Pupils at a Helensburgh primary school celebrated the important role of children in military families last week.
John Logie Baird Primary School pupils marked the Month of the Military Child which takes place each year in April and highlights the important role children play in the Armed Forces community.
On Friday, April 26, the school had a ‘Purple Up’ day, where all the staff and children wore purple, and hosted a bake sale.
Principal teacher Caroline Jones said: “We welcomed our community to school in the afternoon for a very successful bake sale organised by our parent council.
“Each class has contributed to some wonderful artwork to display in school and to be entered in the Month of the Military Child Competition.”
The competition is run by service pupil adviser, Emer Flett.
Month of the Military Child celebrates Armed Forces families and their children for the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they face and overcome.
