A CHARITY ‘knit-in’ is being organised in Arrochar next weekend.

The Three Villages Hall will play host to the event on Sunday, April 28 from 2-4pm.

The event will support Hamlin Fistula Clinics, a charity which provides healthcare for women in Ethiopia.

As well as medical services it provides women with blankets and dresses when they return home after treatment.

A spokesperson for the event’s organisers said: “The charity is always looking for knitted blankets and we’d love to be able to provide an ‘Arrochar Blanket’ for them’, so why not pick up your knitting needles and come along and join in?

“If you can’t make it on the day but would be happy to knit at home that would be great too.”

The organisers are looking for 20cm (8-inch) squares knitted in plain garter stitch, using double knitting yarn and 4mm (size 8) needles.

Completed squares for those who’d rather knit at home can be dropped off at the Three Villages Hall every Wednesday.
